Provincial Compensation Plan
You are eligible for Ontario financial assistance if, before Jan. 1, 1986, or from July 2, 1990, to Sept. 28, 1998, you:

Contracted the hepatitis C virus (HCV) through the blood system in Ontario

Were infected with HCV by a spouse, partner or parent who received blood or blood products in Ontario

Are the personal representative of an estate of someone who has died of hepatitis C and contracted the virus through the blood system in Ontario during the period covered by the Ontario plan
Ontario Under the Ontario Hepatitis C Assistance Plan (OHCAP) , the Ontario government has decided to provide a one-time payment to individuals who contracted hepatitis C through the blood system in Ontario, or to individuals who were infected with HCV by a spouse, partner or parent who received blood or blood products in Ontario, before January 1, 1986, or between July 2, 1990 to September 28, 1998. Federal Compensation Plan
You are eligible for hepatitis C (HCV) class action settlement if prior to 1986 and after 1990 you:

Were infected with the hepatitis C virus for the first time through a blood transfusion in Canada
-
Received a blood transfusion in Canada, have thalassemia (link to glossary) major and contracted HCV
-
Received a blood transfusion or blood products in Canada and are a hemophiliac who contracted HCV.
Spouses, partners, children and other family members are also eligible for the class actions settlement if someone who falls into one of the above three categories infected them.
