Hepatitis A and B Vaccine

Everyone infected with the hepatitis C virus should receive hepatitis A and B immunization, unless already immune, to prevent any further liver damage.

The hepatitis A vaccine is publicly funded for those who are intravenous drug users, men who have sex with men and people who have a chronic liver disease (including hepatitis C).

The hepatitis B vaccine is publicly funded for people infected with the hepatitis C virus as part of Ontario's high-risk program.
